I've cared for animals from a few weeks old to twenty years old, including pets with serious medical needs, mobility challenges, and hospice-level care. One of my most meaningful clients had eight small senior dogs living on her property โ dogs who would have been euthanized if she hadn't taken them in. Some were blind, some were deaf, some wore diapers. I helped care for every one of them. I've also cared for pets who used wheeled carts for paralyzed back legs, and pets on daily medication routines including injections and topical creams. Nothing about caring for an animal in need is unfamiliar to me.
